5. Now you are ready to set up your autoresponder. Go into your autoresponder account and create a campaign or list. Then, create a confirmation message, if your service has not already done this for you. Then, create your first follow up message to go out immediately after they confirm. The follow up message should send them to what you promised them upon opting in. Then, set the confirmation redirect link to your blog link. Set your thank you page link to the thank you page you just created and loaded to your website. Oh yeah, use a free FTP software to load your thank you page on the internet

4. Once you have a blog installed, you should create an HTML page, web page, with a web editor. Use a free software like NVU. It uses a what you see is what you get editor (WWYSIWYG) which means you do not have to know fancy code work to build a web page. This page you are building is your thank you page. Your thank you page is much more than where your subscribers land, you should tell them to check their email for a confirmation message. This message may have landed in their spam folder, so be sure to tell them to look there as well.

3. Using a software that is in your cPanel, called Fantastico, install a new installation of a WordPress blog. You will be hosting this right on your domain name. Blogs are one of those Web 2.0 properties which your readers and website traffic can interact on, leave comments and help you to see the response from your market place. Even most large companies have a blog now, many of which soley utilize a blog instead of the traditional website.

2. Set up a cPanel and WHM Web Host Manager – this is what your website is stored on.

1. Register a domain name (website address) with a domain registrar. Then you will want to purchase hosting for your website you will build, to find out the Domain Name Server (DNS) entries your hosting account uses. Once you have both, you will go into your domain registrar back office and edit the DNS entries that your web host has provided you. Now you will move on to step two.

You would also want to be sure you have learned how to build a marketing funnel. Alright, I can almost feel your eyes glazing over while you are reading this. Here, let me list what you need to have and learn in the order they should be presented.

Before you start cracking away at your autoresponder, learn how to set it up properly first. What I mean is, you wouldn’t set up an autoresponder form unless you had the proper thank you page to redirect your subscribers to. That is the page your subscribers land on when they fill out there name and email address.

Some of the key features you want on an autoresponder is the ability to hold enough subscribers in your database, an affordable solution, one that has a good deliverability rate and an autoresponder that has good tracking and analytics metrics.

Some marketers fall into the trap that, if everyone is using it then it must be a good autoresponder. Not really, autoresponders have come a long way and there are quite a few good ones out there. I personally have three different ones I use, for many different purposes.
